Open Letter to NY Sen Sorvino - re: hearings on mandating HPV vaccine

This letter was sent by email today to the office of NY State Senator Diane Sorvino.

Dear Senator Savino -

I am writing in response to your notice regarding public hearings on the question of whether the HPV vaccine should be legislatively mandated for young girls (http://www.womenshealthcollaborative.org/Resources/GardasilSenateHearing.pdf).

I am not a medical professional. However, I am old enough to remember DES and, so, have been concerned about this issue.

I have a blog and wrote about the vaccine during the summer:

I learned about the Vaccine Event Adverse Reporting System and the many reports of adverse effects from the vaccine and wrote about that:

http://kkrasnowwaterman.com/blog/tabid/2962/bid/1336/More-on-the-HPV-Vaccine.aspx).

Since then, I have been horrified by the many stories I've received from girls and their mothers about serious physical problems

(seizures, loss of consciousness, twitching, changes in menstruation, abdominal pain)

which they believe were caused by the HPV vaccine

I've started a chart to summarize them

but they come often enough that I can't keep up.

I do not know what the truth is about the vaccine and its side-effects. I ask, though, that nothing be mandated before more is known.

Thank you for your consideration,

K. Krasnow Waterman

Our daughter recieved her first vaccination at school,(yr 7) she is 12yrs old.
Five minutes after her injection her eyes started to roll back in her head, she then started to feel nausious and then she started to have siezures. Within 24 hrs she had between 150-200 episodes. The paediatrition refused to admit it was from the vaccination, saying it was psychosymatic. This was almost 6 wks ago and she is still having at least one a week.
Maybe here in Australia there needs to be a bit more sitting up and listening,or does it take a young life to wake the politicians up like it takes for our roads to be fixed!! Our daughter has been assessed by two independant psycologists and they both say there is absolutely nothing wrong with her. She is a normal, above intelligence, bright, well humoured young lady/girl.
We as parents think we are doing the right thing by vaccinating our kids and putting their lives in the hands of the big companies. But when the paediatrition(childrens Dr, supposedly) won't admit anything, what hope af we got!!
