HPV vaccine (Gardasil) - Seizures, Fainting, Paralyis, ....(Updated Chart)

...dizziness, weakness, and menstrual changes are just a few of the problems people believe are adverse reactions (side effects) of the hpv vaccine.   A few hundred people have written in to this website about their experience, suffering, questions, and beliefs.  They've also written about their frustrations with medical professionals who are not responsive to considering a possible correlation between the vaccine and these problems.

I've been building and posting a table of these comments.  Tonight, I'm posting an updated table of items received through the end of May.  I continue to hope that the information will be helpful to a researcher somehwere.

Since the last version was very small type, I'm posting this one as a pdf file.  Please feel free to comment about whether this version is easier to read!

I have a 15 yro daughter that had a seizure in January 2008. She had her last dose of the hpv vaccine October 2007. She had another seizure on Friday, June 27th at 3:00a.m. We have no history of seizures in our family and the doctors have not figured out why she is starting to have these seizures. I believe that the hpv vaccine has caused her seizures. She is a healthy child with no medical problems until now. Is there anything we can do to reverse the effects of this vaccine. Or who can we talk with
to get the right diagnosis. Arleen

You wrote that you wanted to know how other people have found out about your blog on Gardasil side effects. Well, for myself, my daughter has rec'd her 1st shot(out of 3) and was discussing it W/ a friend when that friends mother piped in about a news story(CBS?, CNN?) reporting WORSE side effects than we were informed of. My daughter gets 'worried' so I go searching. You posted a comment on the discussion page at Wikipedia and here I am. Personally, I believe there are too many hysterical moms out there of my generation who over react and over protect thus creating adverse responses by their children which are really more psychosomatic than truly physical.(had my own expeience w/ that behavior while working as a preschool teacher. Moms, kids cry because they KNOW you expect them to & because YOU, yourelf, are sooo worried and distraught, they don't want to let you down...)However the delivery process of this vacine seems new(?!) and if I could I would research THAT and see if these reported severe side effects are related to THAT part of the vacine.(Wikipedia-Gardesil)The way it's made is suppose to be WHY it hurts more upon injection than a 'regular' vacination.

*On my earlier post, my apologies-it is spelled VACCINE not vacine
*upon commenting about distraught moms, I meant to write YOURSELF, not yourelf
*in reference to the way this vaccine is made, I looked at in the encyclopedia section. There, under VACCINE, you will find descriptions of different forms/makes of vaccine.

I have a 12 yr old daughter, had her first HPV vaccine in Nov 2007, second May 2008. She had a seizure April 2008, which they thought was caused by a "virus", now had 2 more seizures on 7/7/08. She's an extremely healthy, athletic girl, all her tests are coming back good. It seems we need to make the medical professionals really start taking a look at this vaccine. There is alot of similar stories all ranging around the time the vaccines started. I will definately NOT have her get the final dose, and will NOT have my 15 year old finish with her final 2 doses.

I had the 1st shot earlier this year, and fainted straight-away. The nurse said I had a seizure while I was out. For the next two days, I had hives on my hands (mostly on the same side that I hda the injection), was dizzy and nauseous. Also for the week after, I had pins and needles feelings in my hands. I have a previous history of allergies and asthma. Also, I do get hives when I'm not on my allergy med, Zyrtec, but they are completely different than the ones I was getting. The ones I was getting were large welts on my hands. When I told my doctor, she said I couldn't prove that anything I was experiencing was related to gardisil because of that history of allergies. It was like she didn't believe me and thought I was making it up, even though the nurse who helped me after I fainted told me she personally wouldn't be comfortable giving me the second gardisil shot. My gyn was the only doctor who actually filed a report of my symptoms and sent it in. Did anyone else have a similar experience? Oh, btw, I'm 25, 5'7", 133 lbs.

Oh, sorry, forgot to mention that my middle, ring and pinky fingers on my hand (same side as injection) got very swollen (especially the middle finger)the morning after the shot and lasted that way for 2 days, along with the hives. Also, since then, I've had worse menstrual cramps that I used to (I used to have little to no menstual discomfort).

My comment to "dee" is that your daughter obviously has not experienced what so many other girls have experienced. My daughter's reaction to Gardasil was totally unanticipated and certainly not an overreaction. Nor do I think the majority of posters are overreactors. Unforunately these reactions are real. I think it's wonderful that your daughter has not had a negative reaction, but believe me, if she did, you would think VERY DIFFERENTLY. My daughter celebrated her 20th birthday today and we CELEBRATED HER LIFE because if she had received her 3rd Gardasil vaccine I do not think she would have made it to her 20th birthday. Until you have been in a position where you are not sure if your child is going to survive, you can not really COMMENT on it. Hopefully, you will not find yourself in such a position. Until you have walked in our shoes, you should RESERVE YOUR COMKMENTS. WHAT THESE GIRLS HAVE EXPERIENCED IS IN NO WAY COMPARABLE TO A PRESCHOOLER BEING LEFT BY HER MOTHER. This comparison is indicative of your ignorance of the situation being faced by these girls and families. Think again before you comment.

Mary Knight -- how is your daughter? I have worried about her for months.

posted on Sunday, July 13, 2008 at 9:35 PM by Crystal Wade

My 19 year old daughter had her first Gardasil vaccine on 5/22/07 and immediately became nauseated, dizzy and faint. After resting for about 20 minutes she reported feeling listless and was still slightly nauseated. She went away to college 3 months later and while home for Thanksgiving she had her first known grand mal seizure. This is a perfectly healthy, atheletic and health concious woman who does not do drugs and takes care of her body. She's had no previous history of seizures and no family history.
She has had 4 seizures since November of 2007 and remains on anti-seizure medication. This appears to be an serious trend! Something has to be done and this drug should be pulled and more studies conducted. This before more young women's lives are turned upside down in their prime.
Don't even talk about this being overreaction by parents or teens. There is a problem with this vaccine!!

Dear Dee:
As a nurse I can assure you that grand mal seizures and respiratory failure are not psychosomatic. They are very much involuntary responses and can not be "faked". I don't care how "hysterical" I may be as a mother, there is no way that I could cause my daughter to seize. You obviously have not witnessed these types of reactions first hand.

i am a 21 year old healthy athletic college student and i am due for my 3rd gardasil shot, now i am having second thoughts. the only side effect that i experienced from the vaccine was pain at the ejection site, which subsided after a few days. all this talk about seizures is really scary, i am wondering if i should skip the last shot or if it is too late and i should just take the risk and complete the vaccine. if you know anything about the seizures in relations to when the shots are given please post it! also i had a thought that maybe getting the last shot would complete the vaccine and therefore not create side effects??? i tried to find information on the difference between the three shots. for example if they contain different ingredients or what... i did not find much of anything. you all seem pretty knowlegable, if you know anything please share.
thank you for your time.

Amber: Talk to your health care professional about your fears. Find out if it would be ok to wait on the third shot until this can be further investigated.
Most of the girls who are now having seizure (from what I can tell by reading postings on line)had fainting, dizziness and lingering weakness after the first shot. I do believe that all the injections contain the same product. Maybe you're in the clear....I hope so. Good luck.

On Tuesday 7/15/08 I took my healthy 15 year old daughter to the doctor to get her TD booster for school and well child checkup. Both the Doctor and Nurse were adament she should also get Gardasil along with the meningitis vaccine. Within 10 minutes after the injections, as we were walking out of the doctors office, my daughter collapsed, lost consiousness and had her 1st ever tonic/clonic "grand mal" seizure that was so severe, she wet herself. Once she regained consiousness she had no peripheral vision in one eye, complained of a feeling of "heavyness" in her ears, a headache (maybe from the fall?)and vomited repeatedly. She traveled via ambulance to the hospital where she received a CT scan and blood work. The vision and ear problems subsided within 15 minutes or so but the vomiting did not stop until she was administered anti-nausea drugs through an IV. She was released from the hospital with a clean bill of health that night. The headache is still with her 2 days later. I have been terrified about what is wrong with her. Will it happen again? No medical professional we encountered that day ever even suggested that the Gardasil could have been the culprit and that what she was experiencing was an allergic reaction. They would only call it a syncopal episode. I have been online researching seizures to try and find an answer when it finally occurred to me last night to Google the words "Gardasil" and "seizure". You have no idea how happy I was to find this page and find out that we are not alone! I could only cry as I read story after story that are identical to my daughters. I am so happy to have found the answer, but I am furious at Merck and the doctor. Can someone tell me - is my daughter out of the woods?

I'm so relieved that I found this website. My 23-year old daughter (who was 22 at the time of her 3rd injection) had a grand mal seizure while driving to work at 9:00 a.m on 28 November 2007, exactly 7 days following her 3rd vaccination. She has had no history of seizure nor has anyone in our family on either her paternal or maternal sides. Luckily prior to the seizure her vision began changing so she slowed down and began to pull over to the side of the roadway. She was traveling in a suburban area so her speed was in the 25 to 30 mph range. She doesn't remember anything after she began to pull over. She wasn't wearing a seat belt and she slumped down in her seat and evidently her body weight hit the accelerator. Because she was pulling over at the time of the onset of her seizure her SUV hit a telephone pole but would have ran into the side of a house if the pole wouldn't have been in her line of travel. Her SUV then bounced off the pole and entered a 4 way intersection (thank God another driver with the right-of-way noticed and stopped) and then her car ran into an autobody shop hitting a repaired sedan and running up the side of a boat before stopping. A County Sheriff who was radaring noticed her SUV coming through the intersection without a driver and he was there immediately upon the final impact. She completely lost her bowels and was foaming at the mouth when the sheriff arrived. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital where a battery of tests was administered following a seizure and nothing was found outside of the range of normal. Luckily she only sustained some bruising from the impacts but her car was a total loss. She was referred to a neurologist who has put her on anti-seizure medication. Since the initial seizure she has had 5 more seizures and 2 additional ambulance rides. Her last seizure was in May 2008, and at that time the neurologist changed her medication. To date she has not had anymore seizures, but continues to be take medication daily with some side effects, e.g., trembling, hair loss, and the potential side effect of horrific birth defects if becoming pregnant. She has had an EEG, MRI, blood tests, etc., and no cause has been identified. She also has a low BMI which I noticed seems to be a link that has been identified in earlier posts. I would advise any parent or girl over 18 to think very seriously before even considering getting this immunization. The risks far outweigh the benefits. My daughter has been lucky - she could have very well ended her life or some elses during her first seizure. She is once again on driving restriction, per the laws in our State which mandate 90-days in which the driver's license must be surrendered, and the driver must remain seizure free before the license will be reinstated. This drug is NOT safe!!! With all of these occurences someone (Merck / FDA) MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE!

My 12 year old daughter had a seizure Jan 2008 after receing her 3 Gardisil shots and another one this week almost exactly 6 months later. We have no history of seizures in the family and the neurologist cannot find any reason why they are occurring. I am thankful to hear the other similar stories. Where do we go from here? Is some type of litigation forming?

sharie, darci and jodie,
I am so sorry to hear that this has happened to your loved ones also. Holly's life at 20 years old was turned upside down due to this dangerous medication. You all know what it's like. No driving, problems with future pregnancies and the fear linked with the possibility of another seizure. (Both for parent and daughter) I haven't found any class action suits to being filed at this time but if any of you want the name of an attorney, go to the following web site. Also file a report there. They were very supportive and helpful. It's the National Vaccine Information Center
Also, I totally can relate to how scary a seizure is for a loved one to witness. I'm a nurse and I had flashbacks and crying spells for months after my daughter's first seizure. At 19 she slept in the same bed with me for weeks because she was afraid she would wake up with emergency personel surrounding her bed and poking her with needles. It's gotten easier over the months and Holly will be leaving the state to attend college in just 3 weeks. My advise to everyone is to encourage your daughters to lead as normal of a life as possible at this point, because worry and anxiety will not change what they have been dealt. (Doesn't that just make you all furious!!!!)
Also, when I told our family physician what I was learning about others and the relationship to Gardasil, he wasn't aware that there was any problem!!!! So........tell everyone you know, everywhere you go, write your congressmen and the media, and make them understand that Yessss. THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS VACCINE!!!! Keep your eyes and ears open.....There will definitely be a class action suit and I want all of our daughters to be well compensated, a message must be sent that drug companies can no longer get away with "fast tracking" products.
I'm so sorry that we are all in this boat. God bless you all.

My daughter received the first dose of Gardasil on 7/8/08. She went to the movies with friends a few days later and suffered a seisure during the movie. I too believe that the HPV vaccine caused her seizure. I am not allowing her to receive any further shots. Is there anything that can be done to reverse the effects of this vaccine? What is the best course of action to take now?

To those of you who have begun the vaccination series, had an adverse reaction and are unsure whether to go on with further injections: Here's some information that you should be aware of.
Cervical Cancer is listed as a "rare disease" by the Office of Rare Diseases. This means that it affects less than 200,000 people in the US population. Cervical Cancer incidence is 1 in 20,923.
Also, of those cases most are between the ages of 30 and 50. A simple yearly pap test can detect precancerous cells on the cervix and with a minor procedure those cells can be removed, preventing the progression to invasive cervical cancer. Even with the Gardasil vaccine, Merck recommends that you still receive a yearly pap exam because...your risk for cervical cancer can be increased by HIV infection, most (if not all) STDs increase your risk and some common vaginal infections such as yeast will increase your chances of developing cervical cancer. Also Gardasil protects you only from 2 of the HPVs that may increase your risk for cervical cancer. In short, invasive cervical cancer can be prevented 100 percent by having yearly exams and by following through on Dr recommendations for treatment. You should also be advised that it is not known how long Gardasil is effective. There is a very real chance that those who receive the vaccine now will need a booster shot within 5 years to continue to be protected.
Just thought you should have some facts.

I'd like to know what everyone is doing about controlling the seizures. Since my daughter now has had two, we need to decide whether to put her on anti-seizure medicine. I'm worried about the side effects. Is anyone else taking a wait and see if it occurs again approach? Are you using anti-seizure medicine? Please email me with any advice. Thanks, Sharie

I recently received my first shot of the series and am experiencing side effects. I was at the movies and felt so ill they had to call the ambulance. 8 hours of waiting in the ER and a TON of tests and they told me nothing was wrong. I'm not going back for the other shots, I have never felt this sick in my life. I had to sit down in the grocery store because I was so dizzy.
I've been trying to find if other people who have had similar symptoms to mine because I want to know how long it takes for them to dissipate. I have a feeling the doctor's aren't going to be any help if my tests just keep coming back normal.
My symptoms are:
- fever
- severe dizziness
- weakness in my limbs
- shortness of breath
- hot and cold flashes
- headaches
- nausea
I guess I got lucky with these less severe symptoms :/

As I wrote prior, my 12 year old daughter has had 2 of the 3 HPV shots. She has experienced 3 seizures within a 3 month period. The Neurologist just told us both her EEG and MRI are clean..nothing wrong. We started her on anti-seisure meds about 10 days ago, very low dose. She started experiencing "weird" feelings in her feet, and now has started happening coming up her leg. She gets dizzy/lightheaded and nautious. Basically the Neurologist up'd the meds and now she is a limp noodle that can't hardly get out of bed, can't eat and has to be forced to drink. As a parent, I don't know what to do next. The doctors aren't listening to us about the vaccines, and this Neurologist acts like this is just something my daughter needs to deal with in life, and "see you in 4 months..keep taking the meds". I am so extremely frustrated and worried about my daughter. Has anyone else experienced this with the anti-seisure meds...and what are your Neurologists saying?

Lori: So sorry to hear about your daughter. The "medical professionals" seem to not be ready yet to accept the fact that Gardasil is causing these problems.
My daughter, Holly has a very similar story.....2 shots, multiple seizures. She is 20 years old. Holly is on the medication Lamictal. She actually was somewhat lethargic and sleepy within the first 2 weeks of meds but those side effects went away. At this point she is seizure free and feeling well. The only thing that I notice is that she is a little more irritable than she used to be.
There are several anti-seizure meds out there and if one is not working, your Dr. "should" be willing to work with you to find one that does. What med is she on now?
By the way, our neurologist, general practitioner and the ob/gyn who gave Holly the Gardasil shot are unwilling to accept the posibility that the vaccine caused her symptoms. I gave them all the web sites that I have found and told them to keep an open mind. We just have to stand together and someday, someone will listen!!

wow i am in shock reading this. i am 23yrs old and i got my last shot about 6 months ago but didnt suffer with any side effects. i guess it is the luck of the draw which is so scary, if i knew then what i have read now i would definately not have had it. i agree with most the people here that unless you experience seeing one of your loved ones having a siezure then you really dont know what it is like. i met my boyfriend when i was 16yrs old and he had epilepsy, seeing him have seizures was one of the scariest thing i have ever had happened to me, we had a son together and when i was nineteen my boyfriend passed away while having a seizure, he was only 23yrs old at the time. i know that that has nothing to do with the vaccination but i understand just how scary it must be for these parents, i think that everyone should know just how dangerous and deadly seizures can be and i dont think any parent should risk having their child exposed to this. i think there has been enough cases of seizures and other side effects for them to stop this vaccination. i have a 2yr old daughter and i know that there is no way she will ever get this vaccination.

Hi,My name is Gabby. I have read your posts about Gardasil and I just wanted to share my story with you.I also live in Philadelphia.I had gotten all 3 of the gardasil shots last year and immediately after the 3rd shot in November I got sick. The very next day I was extremely dizzy and just did not feel right at all.I automatically called the ob-gyn where I received the shot and asked her about the reaction I was having and of course she said that it was not related. Not very long after that I was having stomach problems followed by an unusual cold which I had a nose bleed for several days. And followed by that I had a constant pressure headache which I also feel in my face, back pain, muscle twitches, mood changes, and a very uncomfortable menstrual cycle which i feel dizzy with.I went to my family doctor and he thought maybe it was my sinuses and gave me medicine and antibiotics which did not help.He then gave me steroids which I had a very bad reaction to and ended up in the ER.I finally went to a ENT and found out that my sinuse were fine. After that the doctor said that I have anxiety and gave me meds for that which I did not take because I knew inside that this could not be anxiety.I then had a new symptom heart palpatations and went to the ER for that and told that I was having pvcs probably from anxiety and then I was really frustrated they were just guessing and giving me the easiest diagnosis.I had gotten numerous blood test, chest x-rays,cts of the brain and sinuse, mri of the brain and sinuses,x-ray of the spine and still after all that the only thing that came back was that a had mild scoliosis, tension headaches, anxiety, high cholesterol, and pvcs.None of that helped at all.It is almost one year later and I have not gotten any better or got any answers.I have been to a number of specialist and even changed my doctor and nothing helped.I gave up on all the meds I was given because none of then helped or they just made the symptoms worse. Now everybody thinks I am crazy and does not want to help me.They say its all in my head which I know different. After reading about all of the girls being effected by the shot I really think that’s where all my symptoms are coming from and I just want to be back to normal.I am only 19 and feel like I'm 50!Please reply. thanx,Gabby

FDA Warns Merck To Fix Vaccine Plant Problems (plant makes Gardasil)
Apr 30, 2008 TRENTON, N.J. (AP) ― The Food and Drug Administration has ordered drugmaker Merck & Co. to correct manufacturing deficiencies at its main vaccine plant.
The agency on Wednesday released a warning letter sent to Merck's chief executive, Richard T. Clark, that states FDA inspectors determined manufacturing rules are not being followed at the plant in West Point, Pa., just outside Philadelphia, which makes a number of children's vaccines.
The nine-page letter refers to what the FDA calls "significant objectionable conditions" found during repeated inspections at the plant between November and January.
Merck officials didn't thoroughly investigate when vaccine batches inexplicably failed to meet specifications, even if batches had been distributed, according to the heavily redacted letter.
The FDA also said that some drug components were tainted, and that the plant didn't have written procedures, tests or other laboratory controls to ensure "strength, quality, and purity" of products.
The plant makes children's vaccines, including liquid PedvaxHIB, to prevent Haemophilus influenza type B, and ProQuad, which protects against measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox. Is also makes hepatitis A, hepatitis B and meningitis vaccines for children and adults, and Gardasil, to protect young women against cervical cancer.

Hello everyone,
I take my kids to our local health department for well checks. I have been asked to allow my daughters to get this vaccine on several occasions. They really make it sound like such a good a poerful sales pitch..even though the set of vaccines are free. Today, I took my healthy fifteen year old to get her sports physical. She needed her tetna and I allowed them to give her first gardesil shot...When we walked out to check out she said Mom I don't feel good and thank God I was standing beside her beacause she collapsed right there!! She did not seize, but paste out for like a minute..a nurse came quickly to us and helped me hold her. As the nurse saw my eyes filling up, she assured me this was normal. After I read all of your posts..I don't believe this is normal and now I am afraid to let her leave the house..What if she has a seizure some where????? SHE WILL NOT BE GETTING ANY MORE of those boosters..Why would allow it! Now I have to deal with ther guilt that is welling up inside that I may have done something that could hurt my baby in any way !!! Shame on me for not doing more research vbefore allowing this vaccine to be used on my daughter...and she isn't even sexually active yet.
Please pray for my Tiffany, that she does not experience any more side affects....God bless all of you and you will all be in my prayers too.

Wow... I'm really glad I found this site. I am 23 and was about to get my 3rd shot. In fact, I had to cancel my appointment a few weeks ago because my insurance ran out and I decided to google the effects of waiting longer than 6 months to take the 3rd shot. Thankfully, because of your stories I WILL NOT TAKE IT.
The truth is that I HAVE HAD SOME SIDE EFFECTS, that I did not realize until now, from my first two shots.
I convinced myself that I wasn't getting enough vitamins in my diet... but not enough vitamins do not cause:
-frequent dizzy spells that made my vision fade in and out
-numbness/tingling in my feet and legs
-horrible menstrual cramps that left me unable to move for 20 mins (even though I've never had cramps before)
-and all over weakness
I consider myself very healthy as I only eat organic food and I workout ever day of the week.
My symptoms were sporadic for over two months but thankfully I have not had any since June. I hope it stays this way and that they do not get any worse.
I pray for all of you and your loved ones and hope that everyone who has had this vaccine can recover fully.

Hello friends,
I wanted to add more about our visit to the doctor yesterday and what I am going to do today about it. When I told you all about my daughter passing out beside me, I told you that a nurse rushed to us and helped me hold her. As I was holding my daughter's unconscious body, I looked into the nurses eyes as my own started filling up with tears of confusion. The nurse whispered that this is NORMAL. I could not speak, I could not react. But my mind wanted to shout at her..NO THIS IS NOT NORMAL !!! And if it is so normal, WHY didn't they tell me this might happen? Why is it not MANDATORY for the patient to lie still for fifteen minutes immediatly after taking this shot? I sat there while she got her tetna and her first shot of gardasil. As soon as the nurse finished administrating the shots she just said OK, you are good to go and we followed her out to the check-out window. Yes, I did read the imformation sheet I was given to read before the shot, but all it states for POSSIBLE side affects is.........
>pain and swelling, itching, and redness at the injection site
NO WHERE does it says fainting or future seisures may occur !!!!!!
THAT IS WRONG !!! I will be going in to that place today to tell them how wrong they are for not FULLY imforming people of the side affects. Our daughters are too precious to put through this ordeal. Let us encourage yearly PAPS instead. Sincerly, Lynn I.

Personally, If you were my daughter I would not ALLOW you to have the shots after what my daughter experienced after her first one! There are to many risks involved with these shots and you just don't know who is going to have the severe reactions. You are to young for sex at this time and I hope and pray you realize that too. Save yourself for true love and marriage and you will never need this potentially deadly vaccine, sweetheart. Take care and God bless.

I took my 12 year old daughter to get a physical for sports on the 17th. She recieved a "cockail" of vaccinations that day. HPV, Meningitis,HepA, and Dtap. We left the office and went to the car and she complained that she didn't feel right and she couldn't see. She then fainted and proceded to have a tonic clonic seizure (legs arms face involved) We called 911 and she was taken to the ER where the Dr. there proceded to tell us that it was a syncopal episode that caused a secondary seizure. We went home and so far she's been fine. The pediatrician called the next day to say she reported it to the CDC as an adverse reaction. She thinks it's probably due to the pertusses in the Dtap. I'm not sure what vaccine it was but she won't be getting any more of any of them at this point. After reading the other postings I am convinced that my daughter's reactions were to the gardisil. I have been a nurse for 14 years and always a strong advocate of immunizations but my opions are chaging rapedly!!! I pray that all of you who are experiencing this are talking to everyone you know to spread the word.We obviously have to do it because noone else seems to be paying attention!!! Has anyone else considered the KOMO 4 news investigators??? It's just a thought. In any case I pray the the effects will not be life long. Margarett

We have just had a form to sign for my 12 year old daughter Laura for the HPV first primary immunisation.
As yet we have not signed it as we would like someone to be straight and give us all the facts first and all our doctors are saying is that it is safe with maybe a few side effects such as a rash or dizzyness, but after reading all your posts we are not as yet allowing our daughter to have these shots.
Also as anyone done a study into the long term effects.

Hi John are you in the UK? just to elt you know the Uk are using a different vaccine to the one used in usa eurpoe etc the Uk version protects against 2 strains of hpv the other against 4. The long term studies l ahve been told from the uk medical board is a a whopping 7 years long! Not long at all in my opinion! I rang the hpv vaccine helpline and voiced my concerns as my daughter already has epilepsy l was told it was my choice whether to go ahead etc no pressure was put on me nor was l made to feel guilty. I will NOT be having my child vaccinated. HOWEVER make sure you discuss this woth your daughter as even if they are under 16 if the child can prove it understands about the jab it will be carried out whether you allow it or not! Good luck

I am a 23-year old who is scheduled to receive my first Gardasil vaccination tomorrow. I mentioned it at work, and upon a co-worker's urging, I checked out this website. I am nearly ill over all that I am reading.
Five weeks ago I visited my gyno and she tried to push the vaccine on me. I hate needles, and have had the same sexual partner (now my husband) for over 4 years. I have never missed a physical, have never tested positive for an STD, and have never had an abnormal PAP result. So, I told her no.
This week my doctor called me and said that I was positive for HPV and moderate dysplasia, and that I needed to come into the office for an immediate biopsy, and to receive the shot.
I was floored-- I have always been blessed with perfect health in that department, and now I'm faced with a precancerous condition. As if that doesn't scare me enough, the mere idea of getting this vaccine seems petrifying. I'm in a situation where I feel like I have to choose either the vaccine or face potential cervical problems the rest of my life.
If anyone could offer me any advice before my appointment, it would be most appreciated. I'm new to the area, and miles from family. My husband is supportive, but is just as scared as I am.
Where do I go from here?

To the 23 year old...
If you have never missed an appointment (ie paps) and just now discovering you have HPV, I would sit hubby down for a serious discussion. HPV is a sexually transmitted disease wich CAN cause cancer if untreated. If you have been with him for 4 years and just now discovering you have something.....I would have hubby go in for a full male check up down there !!!! Or he can keep giving it back to you if that's where it came from. The vaccine does not help with the actual disease, it helps prevent several strains of it from infecting you. I would put off the vaccine until husband is checked and you are treated.
Just my opinion....Sorry to hear about your news. Take care.

Just so you are aware that I have a fair amount of medical background: I have been an RN for 28 years. Last ear my almost 18 year old daughter died for no apparent reason. She had 18 years of good health, no major illnesses or surgeries. The reason for death was "undetermined" by the coroner. In the last year I have racked my brain as to what could have happened. The medical community said a virus must have attacked the electrical system in her heart. The 12 hours before she died she was nauseous, & light headed. I took her to the doctors and then the ER where her heart stopped, she had a grand mal seizure and died.
In the 6 months prior she had all three shots of Gardasil. The last one was approximately 1 week before she died. She had symptoms for six months which we could not find an answer to which she had never had before. i.e. complaints of her arm being numb periodcally, swelling (in the injected arm), which would go away and return, then it progressed to swelling in her lower arms, legs hands and feet. Then she started to break out in hives. I took her to an allergist, she went through testing and was not allergic to anything. Her regular doctor could not answer why she was having these strange reactions. She had none of this until she started on the vaccine series. At the time we searched thorugh everything she was doing and having contact with to find out what was causing these symptoms. The vaccines side effects were minor so I did not consider it until recently I read there have been cases of serious immune system disorders and 15 deaths due to this vaccine. My daughters healthy immune system had been compromised, but we couldn't figure out why. I can't prove she died due to the vaccine but major changes in her health took place after the vaccine series had been started. Yes HPV is one of the STD's out there but I think I would seriously think twice before having this vaccine. My daughter was healthy, happy, 18 , and on her way to college, with a health history that was a clean slate, except for the last six months. I will always be left to wonder if by trying to protect my daughter I did the opposite and caused her death. I don't want other mother's to be in this place or take that risk.
Sincerely, Chris

My childrens school in derry northern ireland today gave the `cervical cancer`vaccine. I am seriously worried about the effects on our young people. I have always had doubts with an injection that only prevents 2 of the many strands of the human pappiloma virus. Sexually active young people will still be at huge risk of many other std`s including HIV aids. This vaccine will not decrease harm per se. we are treating young people like they are all stupid and that they cannot accept that having sex is full of risks. Being promiscuous will always have risks no matter how many vaccines the government and health boards throw at us. I am truly scared for the young people of ni who are being given this vaccine and only time will reveal the truth of the damage it will cause. My advice to young people would be dont have sex or stop if you are and you will avoid all the risks. if you have not had sex and plan to wait for your true lifetime partner then an offer of a vaccine for hpv is an insult to you and you have no need of it. This vaccine is too risky and especially after reading all the comments -keep them coming. Good luck to all our lovely young people i have faith in your strenght.

Hi. my name is Taylor. I just had my first Gardasil needle Yesterday and about 2 miunits after I had fainted and had a seizure. i am fine though, no pains, no cracked skull, but they never called my parents?

Hi Taylor:
I am an RN not a Dr but my recommendation to you would be not to get the remaining boosters. Your reaction to the firt vaccine is close enough to thousands of other girls who have had the vaccine that I would consider it an adverse reaction. The literature states that if you have an adverse reaction to the first vaccine then the series should be discontinued. Your parents should be notified of the reaction and you need to make sure that the physician's office makes a detailed note of the event. Demand it. Also you will need to report this event to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting Agency or VAERS. I hope that you continue to feel well. Make a note of any unusual symptoms such as fatigue, joint pain, hair loss, changes in your menstral cycle, tingling in your hands or feet, "brain fog", seizures or respiratory issues. Take care and be safe.

Also...Taylor and all others out there contiplating the vaccine....Yearly visits to your OBGYN to have a simple pap test will detect pre cancerous and cancerous lessions on your cervix in the earliest stages. When caught early cervical cancer in 100% treatable with a relatively painless, and simple procedure. I am confident that the risks of this vaccine are much greater than the risks that you will ever contract cervical cancer. The incidence in American Women being diagnosed with invasive cervical cancer is less that 0.7%.

How much more obvious can it be that Gardisil is poisoning our daughters and loved ones. My daughter has experienced hair loss, diziness, numbness and tingling in fingers and headaches.
I, along with many, many, many other concerned parents and caregivers have posted the adverse, and sometimes deadly side effects of Gardisil. This blog is wonderful, as we can all share our horrific stories and maybe, just maybe somewhere along the line, there will be help. My prudent advice is don't get the vaccine.
Also look at the site called medications dot com and read all the horror stories, this should all make someone think twice. I will be here to help fight this cause for our girls. Do your homework and spread the word

This is my 26 y.o. daughter's story: Against my better judgment, I received my first shot in Oct 07 and my second in March 08. I absolutely will not get the third. I was suspicious of the vaccine, but was convinced by my doctor to get it. I should have listened to my gut. Within two weeks of receiving the first shot, I experienced flu-like symptoms, fever, and such severe vaginal discomfort that I went to the emergency room. I was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis. It cleared up, but my health felt off - worse digestion, I started getting heartburn, feeling fatigue, started seeing floaters in my vision and getting terrible headaches, and my menstrual cycle started becoming more irregular. I had always been like clockwork. I started losing weight, which was unusual, as I had always been overweight and had a hard time losing weight. I began feeling more and more irritable, but made no connections to the Guardasil shot. In March, immediately after receiving the second vaccine, my arm hurt terribly, I felt lightheaded, woozy, and had hives appear. Within 1 week, I started experiencing vaginal irritation again, fever, and had flu like symptoms. Over the course of the next month, I started to feel such severe fatigue, stomach aches, and uncontrollable diarrhea, that I went to my doctor. She told me I probably just had acid reflux. Two days later, I experience debilitating stomach pain, which lasted for nearly 1 month. I had an endoscopy, a CT scan, allergy tests, and blood work for thyroid disorders and other imbalances, all of which have come back reasonably normal and regular for my body and system. I did have some esophageal damage from acid reflux, and was put on Prevacid. Receiving no answers from the Western Medical community, I cut out gluten, corn, soy, dairy, eggs, caffeine, alcohol, yeasts, and sugar from my diet and started working with an acupuncturist and naturopath. Stool sampling showed signs of Candida Yeast overgrowth in my intestines and parasites, which I am combating naturally with help from my naturopath. I a got off the Prevacid successfully with her help, and am starting to feel stronger. However, since January, I have lost 50 lbs, have experienced hair loss, fatigue, eye itchiness, emotional upset, headaches, joint pain, tingling/numbness in hands and feet, lower body temperature, disruption in my sleep, decreased strength, muscle loss, continued gastrointestinal pain, alternating diarrhea/constipation, persistent Bacterial Vaginosis, and have not had my period since I received the second shot in March. While I do feel I am becoming stronger, this road is long and the journey is slow. My health is not what it used to be, my diet is restrictive, and I am taking multiple herbal and natural supplements, vitamins, and probiotics. The appearance of overall, chronic symptoms with the timing of the Guardasil shots makes me believe that I, like so many other women, am a victim of Guardasil. Don't get this vaccine.

My heart goes out to all of you trying to get answers and be heard. I think of all our girls getting this vac today, tomorrow, this week... What a heartbreak. Something I read said "These are the casualties in the war against cancer" then I cried, now I'm mad.

My d- who was 16 at the time of her first Guardisil vac. Woke up about 10 days after the vac., could not speak (only slurred sounds)and had paralysis on her left side. She also lost control of her bladder. We took her to the ER where they ran tons of tests. While in the ER she had a major seizure. It took her about a day to regain her speech and movement of her left side.To make a long story short, all tests came back fine. That was in May of 08.She has not had any problems since then and was taken off any anti seizure meds when she left the hospital. At that time, she was on a low dose of Zoloft and Xanax xr which the DR's are saying could have nbeen the casue, but that we will probably never know for sure. BUT, I can't help wonder if the Vac. caused this as she had been on these med. for over a year with no side effects. I had never heard of seizures/paralysis as a possible side effect to the vac. while my d was in the hospital, but I did call back and talk to the ER dr. a few days later when someone asked me if she had had the vac. I know our situation is different as she was on these meds. (but no longer is)I also called our ped. and she said the CDC has stated that it was inconclusive that this vac. could cause these symptoms. She is fine now and off all meds. My 18 yo has had all of the vac. w/no problems at all. I can't help but let my mind wonder back to the darkest day in my life and the fear in my heart that my 16 yo daughter who was in a hospital bed, wearing a diaper and only able to make slurred sounds would never come back to us.

She will be 16yrs.old this month. and also complains as if her brain is shifting to the right. when this happens she will go lay down until it stops.
I'm so worried that I refused to let her receive last 2 doses.
I've made an appointment with doctors to talk about her symptoms.
I went to Google type in HPV shots and up pops this Website.
Thank You So Much,

I got my last garadsil shot of the series on Monday, October 13th. Approximately one hour later, I was experiencing awful pain and swelling in my left arm (the one I got my shot in). Now, I had pain and swelling in my arm when I got the shots before, but not this severe. As the day progressed, my pain got worse. It started spreading to

Side Effects I've Been Having:
-Pain and swelling in arms, hands, back, neck, armpits, and legs.
-Heart Palpitations
-Troubles Breathing
-Severe and constant pain in upper back, along my spine, and lower back, and around my collarbone.
I got my garadsil shot on Monday, October 13th. The very same day, I had extreme pain and swelling in my arms and back. I had a knot moving around all over my back. I couldn't move my arms for days. My neck was killing me and it kept popping.
My doctor believes this is just a viral infection that just so happened to start effecting me the day of my last garadsil shot. He hasn't done ANY research or else he would know that other people are having the same symptoms. The nurses aren't researching anything either. I don't understand why the doctors won't research this. If it's pending to become mandatory, shouldn't they know what the side effects of it are? My doctor made me feel stupid and irrational and like a bit of a hypochondriac. Not only is that rude, it's distressing! How can someone distribute a shot that was tested for such a short amount of time without even knowing something about it???? Every doctor I've went to knows nothing about this shot. Is anyone else having this problem?? If so, please let me know!
Thank you,
PS. I'm sorry for posting the beginning of this message twice. My computer went crazy on me and posted it before I was done.

First off i would like to give my sympathy to all of the families who have had such horrible reactions to this drug. I am 19 years old and have already had two shots. I am a little past due for my last one and i have held off because of my concern with the drug. this website was my resource on weather or not i should continue with the shots. So far it doesn't really look like i should I had no side effects after the first one but very very shortly after the second one i began throwing up..violently..everday single day for about three months. Is that a side effect?? When i went to the doctor she claimed that it couldn't be the shot because she had never heard of severe side effects occuring from it... hmm well i call bullshit cuz i've heard about the side effects and i'm not even a doctor!! So since the "experts" are clueless i'm here to ask the true experts, the ones who have lived it. My only side effect really was the throwing up...o and my menstrual cycle became like way severe; so i'm asking anyone with good fact-based advice: do you think that it is worth getting the last one?? I'm pretty nervouse about it because it seems that a lot of girls around my age aren't experiencing the really severe side effects untill after the last maybe i answered my own question, cuz from what i've read so far i think i'm going to pass on the third...thats the problem with new medicine: we're all just a bunch of guinea pigs! The FDA definitly needs to conduct a whole lot more research on this drug; there are WAY too many of the SAME EXACT side effect stories, something is OBVIOUSLY wrong...

my daughter had 2 shot and after each shot she complained of bad pain under her armpit and nausea and soreness of the injection site. she also recently has developed a fibroid mass in her breast and the doctor are saying this is common in ten age girl and it comes from caffeine and/or hormonal changes. Before the shots she never had these problems. I'm curious if someone else is having the fibroid mass situation . By the way my daughter is 16.

My daughter will be turning 11 in a few days and I am doing research on this Vaccine. Can anyone tell me exactly how many strains of this virus does the vaccine prevent? I am not convinced that having the vaccine is worth the risk after reading some of the situations that some of you have had. Has there been any reports of possible long term effects from this drug? Usually the long term effects may not show until years after the drug has been taken.

It saddens me to read of all the problems due to this and other vaccines. My nephew, on my wife side, has experience seizures and lethargicness due to vaccinations. He is only about 3! He recently received a flu shot and needed to be picked up from daycare because of lethargic symptoms and spacing out. His father is against vaccination but his mother will hear none of it. The doctor knows best. We live in a society that has been indoctrinated with this mentality. Testimony after testimony show that many doctors simply are unwilling to fault the vaccines. I have 9 children and only partially vaccinated the oldest. None of my children will get this or any other vaccine on my watch.

She's anxious to get the word out because California is considering mandating the vaccine. It is already required for immigrants. How sickening is that. Maybe you should think about listening to doctors instead of arguing. I'm a pediatrician in a busy urban practice, and have seen many children vaccinated for HPV without incident. Your doctor is MUCH less likely to actually sit and listen to you if you are not willing to listen to our attempt at answers to your questions. Surprise, the internet is not the absolute authority. Yes, fainting is a known effect of ALL's a reaction that many teenagers experience. No, seizures should not be caused by the vaccine, but there is currently no evidence to suggest that they are you could be right. Instead of venting about it on a random blog, report it to the authority that can actually do something about it. It's called the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System. Have a real, candid, respectful conversation with your doctor. Please.

JC -
Thanks so much for weighing in. I, and others, have repeatedly told readers to report to VAERS. Also, we have sought advice for how to talk to a doctor who flatly refuses to report. If you have suggestions about best approaches for that problem, the readers would be most appreciative.
Thank you, -k

I want to thank all the women (and men if any) who have posted here. I have a story and it will take time to write out but for now all I can say is I am appalled by the information on this vaccine. I was about to receive next Fri. However, my plans have totally changed.

I came across this blog because I am doing some research on the side effects of the HPV vaccine which I suspect a patient is suffering from. She developed seemingly unrelated symptoms just after getting the 3rd HPV vaccine. I see some of the same symptoms that she is complaining about here. Please report your daughter's symptoms to VAERS, and to bone-fide websites to forewarn other parents who are considering letting their child get the vaccine. If you cannot find relief through the conventional system of medicine then perhaps looking at homeopathic treatment would be a good idea. Although not widely practiced in the US and Canada, homeopathy is an established practice throughout Europe and Asia. All my best.

Many others, including my now 15 year old daughter, have absolutely noticed hairloss in and around the time of receiving the GARDISIL vaccine. It is possible but very difficult to prove! Report this side effect to VAERS.
if you feel this was a result of Gardisil.

Here in Ireland there seems to be a news black -out re: reported
side effects of Gardasil vaccine.
So far the vaccine has not been
given to schoogirls because of lack of resources, but it is
available privately at a cost of
600 Euro approx.

Hello - I am interested in any additional detail as my 19 year old daughter finished her series of HPV vaccines around May 2007 - In early June she began experiencing syncope episodes and has continued to have them. We are exhausting every avenue regarding her health as she had never experienced any adverse health up until this point. To date, she has been to an ER over six times and has been just released from a two day hospital stay where all of her workups are coming back normal. She has EKG's, EEG, CatScan, MRI, blood workups. Her menstrual cycles have changed from routine and normal to frequent and painful. She has blurred vision, leg and spine pain, headaches, extreme fatigue, etc. We are beginning to work with a variety of practioners both Eastern and Western medicine. We live in California, but she has been away at college. The ER doc is not certain that she should attempt to resume normal activities without understanding her condition further - at this juncture they are suggesting psychotherapy and potential treatment for anxiety related disorders. Can anyone comment further on the paths they have taken to get their daughter's healthy?

Hi Kelly
My daughter was also 19 years old when she began having symptoms that we are now relating to the Gardasil vaccine. She began suffering seizures, headaches and chronic debilitating fatigue. I have recently recieved exciting news regarding treatment for her condition from the Generation Rescue organization. They are comitted to the treatment of children with autism related to vaccines they have received. This is the group that Jenny McCarthy is involved with. Because it is now becoming apparent that the girls symptoms are linked to the vaccine carrier solution.....not the HPV like particles in the solution we are confident that the girls are suffering from toxic encephalopathy resulting from...most likely...the aluminum in the carrier solution. Thus, essentially the same treatments should be effective.
There is a detailed description of the treatments on the website for Generation Rescue. The first step involves a change in diet eliminating all sugars, and simple starches. This will remove the candida in her system that has been allowed to overtake her as her immune system has been compromised by the reaction to the toxic metals. I would also place her on a liquid vitamin supplement, a liquid mineral supplement as well as a probiotic to help improve her brain function and strengthen the immune system. Chelation therapy has been discussed but Holly, as many of the other girls suffering, is in too fragile a state of health to tolerate it. Maybe that will come later. It is also recommended that the injured girls consult a D.A.N doctor in their area to facilitate the proper program. There is a link to find a Dr in your area on the site I mentioned. I know it sounds like a long road and alot of work but I am so excited at the prospect of having "my daughter back". Good luck to you. Heres the site:
Let me know if you would like further information.

To all -
Several people have mentioned the theory that the suffering people are experiencing is not from the vaccine chemicals but rather from the chemicals in which the vaccine is suspended. (I admit I've been wondering about that whenever I read a news story about similar symptoms known or alleged to be caused by a different medicine or vaccine.) There's also been discussion of using "chelation" to remove metals from the system. Please know that these opinions are not uniformly held and not considered proven by the mainstream medical community. I am not saying they are wrong; I am saying that these views are also still the subject of debate. Unfortunately, there is no definite answer yet to any of these questions. I encourage each person to read about as many different theories and treatments as they can, ask as many questions as they can, and make their own decision about which path they choose. I also continue to encourage EVERYONE experiencing a problem to report it to their doctor, VAERS (the US government system to gather vaccine adverse effects), and the manufacturer. You can report to VAERS online at
Wishing a speedy recovery to everyone who is suffering, -k

I received a link from a friend and I found your site. I was really impressed reading the stories about Gardasil side effects. I've never thought that so many Americans do not know about VAERS or don't struggle to report the side effects of a vaccine. Why this?
In my country ( Romania), the government tried to promote Silgard ( the European name for Gardasil) as a mandatory vaccine for girls in the 4th grade (9-10 y.o.). So far, due to several factors, they did not succeed.
A couple of minutes ago, I copied the comments posted by your visitors here ( and now I realised that I did this without any agreement from you or your visitors.
So, I kindly ask you and your visitors to allow me to keep their comments here ( ) and to give a chance to other parents to read before making any decision about this vaccine AND to encourage parents to look carefully for vaccine side effects.
We don’t have any database to report to; there is no VAERS equivalent in our country ... We might never know if there are side effects after vaccine shots because our government never reports this kind of data.
The vaccine was promoted as being free of serious side effects!! Fortunately for us, unfortunately for the government .. the internet worked well, so people found out about possible side effects and very few girls were vaccinated.
There is one aspect which is less discussed: a child might be infected with hpv since birth. Check these links:
Merck never adviced parents to check if their children have already a hpv infection. According to Merck studies, if a person is already infected with vaccine’s hpv strains there are concerns that cancer risk might go up 44%:
„Concerns Regarding Primary Endpoint Analyses among Subgroups
There were two important concerns that were identified during the course of the efficacy review of this BLA. One was the potential for Gardasil? to enhance disease among a subgroup of subjects who had evidence of persistent infection with vaccine-relevant HPV types at baseline. The other concern was the observations of CIN 2/3 or worse cases due to HPV types not contained in the vaccine. These cases of disease due to other HPV types have the potential to counter the efficacy results of Gardasil? for the HPV types contained in the vaccine.
1. Evaluation of the potential of Gardasil? to enhance cervical disease in subjects who had evidence of persistent infection with vaccine-relevant HPV types prior to vaccination.
The results of exploratory subgroup analyses for study 013 suggested a concern that subjects who were seropositive and PCR-positive for the vaccine-relevant HPV types had a greater number of CIN 2/3 or worse cases as demonstrated in the following table:
... Observed Efficacy -44% „ page 13.

My daughter who is 18 received her 3rd Gardasil shot in Aug. Seemingly no problems until Nov when she passed out for no apparent reason. Went to ER for stitches to her head and they found no reason for the passing out. She is an otherwise healthy child, with no health problems. Could this be a side effect from the shot? I am worried it will happen again. I wish I would not have had her get this shot, but I trusted my doctor. Who do we believe?

This is my story...I was 19 years old when I had my first seizures. November 24, 2006 to be exact. My ex boyfriend came home and found me blue, foaming at the mouth, and I had lost control of my bowels completely. I was rushed to the hospital where I continued to have 5 more grand-mal seizures. Tests were completed and they came back completely normal. They had no idea what was causing my seizures. I was released 3 days later with no answers. I was a normal college student at the time, going to school, very active in organizations, and working two jobs with no problem. After my seizures I was told that I could no longer drive until I was seizure free for 6 months. I was forced to move out of my apartment because I could no longer be left alone or drive to school. I had to move home to my parents house. After leaving the hospital, I continued to have seizures over the next few months. My whole life had been turned upside down. I haven't been seizure free since then. About 3 months later my sister called and asked my if I had ever received the Gardasil shot. She said that she was listening to CNN talk radio and heard a story about people who received the gardasil shot and began having seizures. I had received the garasil vaccine. I called my OBGYN and asked the dates in which I recieved my shots. The first dose was on Oct. 17, 2006 and I had my first Seizures on Nov. 24, 2006. Looking back, I had been very tired prior to the seizures. I slept all the time and was having dizzy spells and migraine head aches(which I had never had these before the shot.) Looking back I really don't clearly remember the month before my seizures. My grades also began to go down. I also remember being told that I was the first person in the St. John's Hospital System to receive the shot. I was their guinea pig. After taking in the news that Gardasil might finally be the answer to my diagnoses of Epilepsy. I felt relieved and angry at the same time. I was relieved because I might finally have an answer to my disorder. I was so angry because not only did I get the first shot, but the second and third, not knowing that was why I was having seizures. I wonder if those shots only made my seizure problems worse. I talked to my neurologist who went and researched it, and called me back telling me that the shot was so new that their wasn't enough evidence yet to know if this was the cause of my disorder. But he did say that he wouldn't deny it either. I have been on multiple seizure medicines since then. They all have bad side effects making college more of a struggle. I continue to have seizures on a weekly basis. But I am now a senior in college soon to receive a degree in Early Childhood Education. This semester is the first time I was able to work since my first seizures. I just want my happy healthy, life back that I used to now so well. It's hard think that one shot that was suppose to help protect me, gave me a life long disorder. PARENTS: PLEASE RESEARCH BEFORE YOU ALLOW YOUR DAUGHTERS TO RECEIVE THIS SHOT! THESE SIDE EFFECTS ARE REAL!! As a future educator I know how important it is to get the word out about the vaccine. I ALSO WANT OTHERS WHO ARE GOING THROUGH THE SAME STRUGGLE,TO KNOW THAT THEY AREN'T ALONE.

Hannah: I am so sorry for your pain. I'm very familiar with it as my daughter's story is exactly like yours. Holly was a Healthy, normal 19yo, attending college away from home. She had her first known gran mal seizure on November 24th, 2007 (eeri huh). After several more and multiple tests she was also told that there was no identifiable cause for them. Same thing!! Left college, couldn't drive, moved home. Thankfully she is now living on her own (with a roommate) and going to school. She also suffers from the severe side effects of the anti-epileptic meds and also experiences severe and chronic fatigue, joint and muscle aches, migraines, and irritability which we feel are the result of the Gardasil vaccine. You are not alone either. Holly has a my space account that she would love to visit with you on. It's amazing that I have spoken with literally thousands of girls experiencing the "exact" same side effects from this vaccine. How can Drs NOT take this seriously? Holly did an interview for fox news 11 in LA. To see it go to Fox News 11 LA, search HPV, watch the video titled; Is the HPV vaccine really safe. Good luck, prayers are with you.

My heart goes out to all of you. When my daughter brought home the permission slip for the vaccine I went with my intuition, thank god I did, I said no. We need to be able to say no to the Doctors of this world who act like God. We see the evidence before us and they can't take that away. Strength is in numbers, form a group, lobby, write news stories, get on the news, do whatever it takes to prevent further harm to our daughters, they are far too precious to be used in what is experimental and dangerous.

Hi my name is Shelby, I'm 16, and I have a sister who is 14 years old who's name is Summer, and last year she recieved her third gardasil shot on August 21 2007, along with her twin sister, and myself. 5 days later my family and I heard a horrific scream and rounded the corner to see Summer laying on the floor, face blue, and eyes rolled back, shaking violently, have a grand-mal seizure. My family and I didn't know what it was, but we had an aunt with us who was a nurse, and explained what was happening. A month later, she had a grand-mal seizure in which she flipped out of the shower, and came inches from smacking her head on the tub. She was foaming at the mouth, with water running out, and her body was rigid, and her face began to turn purple, from the lack of oxygen. She continued to have them about a month or so apart, and had many different kinds: focal seizures, partial, and absent. She continues to have them and it is now over a year later. She has been on: Keppra, Trileptal, Limictal, and Zonogram. She is currently on the last two, and recently went 62 days without a seizure. The night my family and I were going to celebrate this, she had a grand-mal in our computer room. She has never had more than one seizure in a day, but a few hours later, had another grand-mal, where they decided to take her to the hospital. As many others have said, doctors refuse to even consider the possibility that that Gardasil vaccine is a problem, and could be the link to all of these side effects. No one in my family has a history of epilepsy, and she's had 5 or 6 EEG's and MRI's with no conclusive results. The paramedics have now become familiar friends with my family, and it's not something to be brag about. My sister now wants to be homeschooled because her seziures haven't been controlled, and she's afraid to have one during school. Last March she went to conference for a school track meet, and had a partial seziure, where her neck turned completely to the right, and she walked around in a circle, then we helped her to the ground and she shook until she was taken to the ambulance and came out of it about 20 minutes later. Kids are so cruel, and some laughed, but most were sympathetic. That breaks my heart, has anyone found a medicine that has worked for their daughter? What is wrong with these flipping doctors that they won't even consider that Gardasil is the problem. How could you not?! Could you please e-mail me with any answers or suggestions? It's sad to know that so many girls have this problem and have no solution. I'm so sorry that so many have suffered from this, but know that you aren't alone.

I was wondering if I could get your daughters last name so I would be able to find her on my space. Holly's story is so similar to mine it's scary! It's sad yet comforting to know their are others who deal with the horrible side effects of seizure drugs. And we are only forced to take them because we received one vaccine that has yet to be researched enough. Something that was suppose to help us,not hurt us. Thank you for sharing your story.

I am currently taking my daughter to a Neurologist. She was the first to receive the vaccine from her Pediatrician over a year ago. I was working for a doctor's office and was "wooed" by the drug rep for Gardasil. She is now 14y/o and has had a CT of the brain w/ contrast. She is scheduled for labs, MRA, MRI, and an EEG to rule out seizures. I am positive there is a link and I want answers. I am scared and hope she will be okay. She suffers from dizzy spells, complete loss of vision lasting up to 2 minutes, headaches, and a metallic taste in her mouth. I would wait to get this vaccine until more research is done. I am not against vaccines. She just got he menengitis one 2 mths ago. I just think there is something very wrong with Gardasil.

My 14 year old daughter received her first Gardasil shot in february of 2008 and the last one at the end of August 2008 on November 11th she suffered two seizures in one day and had a battery of test done EEG, MRI, CT Scan and blood work everything came back negative then once again on December 5th 2008 she had her third seizure and was put on anti-seizure meds she is presently on the fourth of such kind and is having trouble finding which one is right for her. This week on January 5, 2009 she had her fourth seizure and was in the hospital for two day with a rash. My daughter has never had a history of seizures or do they exsist in my family all this began to happen after having received the Gardsil shot. I was never informed by her doctor that this vaccine had so many side effects had I known I would have never agreed for her to receive it. I hope everyone who has had symptoms from this vaccine will inform their doctors and insist on filing and adverse reaction form so that it can be removed off the market.

I could not agree with Janet more. It is absolutely important to report to VAERS at their site because the health professionals want data and until there is hard written results that encourage a review nothing will change. We have personally just gone thru another round of a four day hospital stay at the UC for my daughter and I was hoping to share the treatment and care plan with everyone. The frustrating result was the determination that she is "stressed" and needs to manage her anxiety since all of her tests have come back normal. She has syncope or seizures that last anywhere from 3 - 40 minutes - coming in and out of being able to acknowledge what is going on. She has not been driving and is trying to manage college living on campus, having episodes that can be weekly. She is exhausted daily, has migraines, and spinal pain. I really appreciate Hannah's blog as it very informative and shares the courage and ability to press on and manage through such a trying health issue.

A metallic taste in the mouth is a indicator that your daughter is going to go through/has been going through absent seizures. Grand-mal would be easy to spot, so maybe she's suffering from absent seziures.

I have been navigating the web of medical professionals since last July with my daughter (now 20). This completely healthy young woman has developed a rash, which they have diagnosed as idiopathic, stopped menstrating altogether (completely regular and predictable since 13) and imexplicably is fighting to keep her weight above 100 pounds. Of course no one wants to look at the Guardasil vaccine, but I believe from the extensive blood work and records I have kept that my 20 year old is either under thyroid or adrenal stress brouht on by exposure to the Guardasil vaccine. I may never be able to prove it, but I will not keep silent when I hear other mothers of young women discuss the vaccine.

After reading the comments on this site I have come to the conclusion to NOT get this vaccine for my daughter. She is ten years old, asthmatic since she was one, and also has postural hypertension. I have been agonizing over this vaccine since her doctor suggested it last year. My mind was telling me that the doctor knows best but my heart was telling me no, don't do it. I now have firmly decided to NOT get her the Gardail vaccine. My seventeen year old niece got all three shots last year with no problems. I now worry about her because she has an older brother that has Epilepsy and has suffer to no end with seizures since infancy.

I think it is sad that someone can read sites like these and correct someones spelling so if I am off a little I shall not appologize, I am writing about my daughter, and I am not in spelling class, I am a mother with a very sick daughter. She was a beautiful healthy smart girl. Now she is SICK! She was the first girl in our clinic to get "the Shot" I had cancer in my cervix and wanted her protected, but being new on the market I asked alot of questions and was very reluctant, but with coaxing about my cancer from my doctor I thought I was doing the best thing for her. The biggest mistake of my life, and hers. She will never have enough credits to graduate(she got a letter from our governor twice for her excellence in our state manditory testing. She can't drive or work she can't be left alone. She has seizures, headaches, numbness on her left side, sometimes she can hardly get up the steps, her arm leg and foot go numb, she says it tingles or feels like it has really fallen asleep and is at the inbetween stage. She sometimes slurs her speech, she forgets things ,does things that she can't remember, has bad dreams ,sleeps on and off has dajavu often. She has been in the hospital for 5 days testing for epilepisy in Spokane 5 days at Childrens in Seattle psyc ward(insane asylum) as she jokes about it. It's almost like you have to find it funny when you can, or you will crack.I stayed at the RMH. with my then boobie boy, he is now weened. I went back to my room and called my husband and told him if my parents left me there I would never speak to them again. I told her she didn't have to stay. We traveled Amtrac because of the avalanches ,the roads were closed. She decided we traveled this far and we want answers.Conversion disorder. I was so angry at the Dr.for sending her there for a psyc. eval I switched Drs. The new got an eval. and found out she is fine went back several times just to make sure. Meanwhile counseling just to cope counselor says she is fine. She has done a 24 hour urine test, tested for thyroid, diabetes, many things I cant' even remember. Chest pains all the time.3 heart meds over dose BP down to 34. 2 heart monitors, they finally put her on a tilt table. They implanted a heart monitor in her chest huge scar. We are now able to monitor. Once again first person to send results via phone. No problems not her heart. We still need to get it removed. Her cousin told her about something she say on t.v. Gardasil. I have been checking it out and here I am. My next step was checking for MS my mom has it runs in families, but is not hereditary. Checking on the side effects of the shots Guillain-Barre Syndrome shows up, many syptoms mimic MS and it is often a misdiagnosis for MS. Guillain-Barre Syndrome Maybe caused by the shot.It is time ,I have been angry for too long I have mentioned Gardasilal all along and get shot down by every I am crazy. We have been through so much these last horiffic years. I tell every person that I know don't get the shot risk the cancer. You have a better chance and where will our daughters be and their children be if any in the years to come.I am the slowest typer in the world I could go on for hours if I could type faster. I did my first e-mail yesterday! I told my daughter we can either be victims or victors. VICTORS we shall be. Please feel free to contact me it may be a long time, I will be typing tring to contact you back ha!ha!May God bless us all!!

I wish I had seen this site sooner. My daughter is 15 and had two shots. Before her third shot we found out that her ligaments around her c1 vertabrea became undone. She needed to have emergency spinal fusion surgery. It made no sense to me why her ligamnets would stop working. She was not in an accident. As I was going through some symptoms I saw paralysis. That could have happened to my daughter had she not had the surgery. Needless to say she is not getting the third shot. It all just seems so coincidental.

I posted a comment on February 17th regarding my 20 year old daughter. After further test results were received in February we have results. My daughter, previously menstrating regularly since 13, has no estrogen and no progesterone. They ran a thyroid panel will am creatin levels and FINALLY determined "oh, we have thyroid issues". At this point, one allergist, pediatrician, internist and reproductive gynocologist and (then) 7 months later, who all mistakenly diagnosed the rash as an idiopathic allergic reaction, I made my way to a Naturopathic M.D. We are four weeks into adrenal, thyroid and many other suppliments. Finally, the rash is subsiding. We will be re drawing blood for analysis in a couple of weeks when my daughter returns home for the summer from college and will adjust her suppliments as we go. We made the choice to try to get her body functioning again naturally rather than thyroid supplements for life. Stage II adrenal distress was only a part of the diagnosis.

My 17 yr old had her first dose of Gardisal and had a seizure within just a few minutes. We were still in the exam room when it occurred. I was never warned that this may be a side effect but was surprised when the Dr. told us to schedule #2 shot as if the seizure was nothing. She has no history of seizures. As a parent who has no medical background I found this to be "odd" and dangerous to even think about giving her another shot. After reading this it has assurred me again, that I am right and there is no way she should have another shot.

I am 14 years old i went to the doctors today for a regular checkup and maybe some solutions for my acid reflux. Little did i know the nurse pressured my mom into giving all of my siblings and i shot. my year old sis 4,5yr brother 1,4 yr sister 4,12 yr sister 2, and me 2. I was just going to get menengitis (sorry if not spelled correctly) as my 12 year old sis but the nurse had again! pressusred her into doing it convincing her it was a great idea. i knew there were some side affects. the women gave my sisters and brother their shots then they said ok your next. i replied firmly no.
i told them specifically of my severs phobia of needles and how i get horrible panick attacks that lead to fainting occasionally. The women replied it wouldnt be so bad and id be fine. i said no you dont understand, i am extraemley uncomfortable with this and i do not want to get this shot. I sat in the chair refusing to get on the table. the women said ok we will do it over there. they came to me and i sheilded my body in fear. i covered my sholders as they tried to clean them i was sobbing beggin my mom to make them stop (they were REALLY hurting me i have bruised all over my arms) i called my mother mommy for the first time in 5 years i was so horrified. My mom told them to stop she said she was uncomfortable with it and said we would come another time with my dad. the nurses gave me and my mom a dirty look threw the wipes to clean your arm on the table. my mom gathered the kids preparing to leave. she was in the hall and the nurse said we just need to get this over with, my mom was resistant but agreed. the nurse went in the room told my mom and everyone to wait in the hallway. I practically shreeked in horror. (to many people this may seem silly but if you truely have a phobia of needles then you understand how terrifying it is.) i sheilded my arms once again prepared to put up a fight. (i do not beleive in vaccinations ESPECIALLY by force)they nurse grabbed my arm trying to pull it away i began to hyperventalaite and have a panic attack i told them to stop and to get my mom for help because i couldnt breathe. the nurses said that the panic attak was my fault and i should stop being a baby.(panick attacks are not something thats managable for me ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO MY PHOBIA) and i mean i had NEVER seen these nurses in my life so i didnt really trust these people to stabb a needle in my arm.l i managed to keep covering my sholders. i became tired of being resistant as the nurse had already RIPPED my bracelet off and broke the beads of all over. i finally said ok please let go and let me relax my muscles so it wont hurt so bad. they STILL would not let go. i said it again. i looked up and said it over and over and over sobbing. the woman finally jabbed the needled in my arm and MOVED IT IN A CIRCULAR MOTION WTF!!!?? i was SO angry i kept screaming for help from my mom but she waited in the hallway. then they left me sobbing in the corner without a care. then my sis had her turn she tried to she begged the nurse not to do it on her sholder that was sore and had a bright red rash all over it(the reason she went to the doctors in the first place!) i yelled at the nurse "STOP NOW DIDNT YOU HEAR HER SHE HAS A RASH ON THAT ARM AND ITS IN HORRIBLE PAIN" they ignored me and did it anyways then the other arm leaving her crying too. the arm with the rash bled through two bandaids and through her shirt leaving a blood splotch on it. 40$ shirt in the trash... then they left without another word. even another kind looking nurse came into the room during the process of giving my sister the shot seeing what was wrong and she came up to my sister and soothed her even though the nurses had already given her the gaurdasil in her hurt arm. nice right?
i came home and couldnt breathe for awhile almost like asthma. and i had panick attacks the rest of the day just thinking about it crying. it was the worst experience of my life and i REFUSE to go to that doctors office anymore. or get another gaurdasil shot.

This comment is for Casey a young 26 year old healthy woman who just posted a comment today, May 20, 2009. Casey I am so scared for you please look for comment that I posted on January 11, 2009 regarding my 14 year old daughter. Well since that posting she has now had a total of ten known seizures. She now takes two anti-seizure medications. She constantly complains of joint pain and headaches and her menstrual cylces are not regular. She used to be on dance competition teams but is no longer participating as a result of all of this. She had been dancing since she was four years old. Casey please continue to research before you decide to get the remaining two vaccines. My daughter had also never had any reactions to any vaccines as a child. If you like you can e-mail me and I will be more than happy to share a video which Katie Couric presented a couple of months ago on the evening news on the side effects of Gardisil. Well take and good luck.

Which now i am finding out they find out a type of herpies has part in some types seizures it makes me wonder if that was always my cause an not the scare tissue on my brain from mingitus. I am having bad health issues my female doctors nurse says i have hpv makes me wonder if the fever blister i got up till 2 yrs ago moved in my body being i am not sexual active

Thank you for your concern. I have been trying to decide whether or not to get the rest of the series b/c my seizure was very brief. Some of the nurses nearby thought maybe I just passed out from low blood sugar, but the person present was adamant that it was a small seizure because of my eye movements. Plus, I have passed out only once in my life and it just felt like I fell asleep. This time I felt fine and then my body started to feel warm and tingly and I said, " I do not feel right," then I just felt like I was dissociated from my environment and like I was watching TV. It was very odd. The person present said I never lost consciousness and the whole episode was no more than 10 seconds long. So I have been contemplating the risks over the cancer benefits. also, if i have already screwed myself over with the first shot, why not get the cancer benefits out of it?
Tonight, 9 days later, I was sampling perfumes when all of a sudden my body felt warm and i started sweating basically the same sensation I felt before the last time I had a seizure minutes after my garadsil shot. I sat down and took deep breaths and then it passed without further incident. The first experience was so memorable that I recognized the symptoms immediately tonight. Needlesstosay, I will not get the rest of the shots. I hoping that since my experiences were short and the last one not even a seizure that it will not get worse later.

I don't understand those commercials on tv made no sense to me it is just a sham as far as I am concerned. People need to not be so gullible. The pharmacuticals are just into it for the money. They take advantage because most people are too busy to investigate.

I am curious to know how the pharmaceutical company who developed the Gardasil vaccine knows that it prevents cervical cancer.
They don't claim that the vaccine CURES cervical cancer.
They claim that it prevents cervical cancer.
So, who were their test subjects?
Females who didn't have cervical cancer?
If so, how does this prove that the vaccination prevents cervical cancer?
FYI, the male species is the carrier of the HPV that can cause cervical cancer.

Firstly, I would like to express my sincere sympathy to each and every one of you.
To the mother's of daughters who are watching them suffer the side effects of this vaccination, my heart goes out to you.
To the daughters who are suffering side effects from this vaccination, as a mother myself, my heart goes out to you.
My suggesstion is that each and every one of you find other women who have experienced side effects from this vaccination; as many as possible and file a class action law suit against the pharmaceutical company who produced it.

One question to those females who received the Gardasil vaccination.
Were you advised by your doctor as to any possible adverse side effects?

posted on Saturday, June 06, 2009 at 12:10 AM by Darleen

Yes, and seizures was not one of them. Also, I reported my incident VAERS. My reaction was not normal according to the tech and other medical professional's that rushed to attend to me. I am neither a "wuss" when it comes to needles. I did not freak out and cry. I sat there and took it. Afterwards, I talked and laughed with the tech. I was completely lucid. I can only speak from my own experience, but as a previously healthy adult with no negative experiences from numerous other vaccines, my reaction was extremely out of the norm for my body.

i received the first shot a month ago and here are the effects that i have felt. im not sure yet if it is related to gardasil but i will be going to a doctor bec i feel that my body is not what it used to be.
i am 30, i know perhaps that seems a bit old to get this vaccine but coming from a medical related background i thought its better to be protected. i wish i did not have that vaccine now.
when i got the shot for a week i felt fatigued. then i had a stomach flu that comes and goes. also my skin is more problematic than usual so i went to my dermatologist and told her that something is wrong and she asked me if i did something new recently. i honestly couldnt remember anything so i ddnt mentioned that i had the gardasil shot. that day i wasnt able to eat much and so i had a seizure right there and then at the dermatologist just a few seconds after she finished the procedure she did on my face (acne stuff). she was highly concerned that i lost consciousness but my eyes were open and my hands were shaking. she said i probably had a sugar drop also ionic drop. but i just had some biscuits 20 min inside the clinic. After that incident... im still feeling fatigued, thirsty all the time and both my big toes feel numb. its even hard to breath sometimes like a heaviness is on my chest. i do not know what is wrong with me. all i know is i felt fine before my first gardasil shot and now... IM NOT. will i always be like this? i wil not get the 2nd shot.

At my OB's and pediatricians urging, I had my 11 1/2 yr. old daughter receive the first dose of guardasil. I was hesitant at first, but like many, look at the benefits and risks. Unfortunately, the risks seem to be unknown or understated by the professionals and the benefits are overstated. I had read about possible reactions, such as fainting, dizziness, vomiting, etc., but nothing like what has been posted on this board. I consider myself pro-vaccinations, but will not be having my daughter receive the remaining doses, nor have my 9 yr old daughter receive any. I knew that my daughter should stay at the Dr. office because of potential side effects like vomiting/fainting, but was surprised when the nurse gave her the shot, and escorted us out. As I was making an appt for the 2nd dose, approximately 2 minutes after the shot, my daughter told me "I don't feel right". I sat her in a chair in the waiting room and told the receptionist that she looked like she was going to faint. Luckily she never lost complete consciousness, but was completely limp, couldn't hold her head up so I held her head in my hands. Then she threw up all over the waiting room.
The Dr. came out during this time and told me this was a "normal" reaction. This reaction, however, was not normal for her with any vaccines. She received the first and only dose that she will be getting 10 days ago. I thought I had researched this! Due to her response to the vaccine, I have researched more and stumbled upon this site. I will be posting this site link on my FBook so other moms that I know can make a more informed decision. I wish you all well

Hello. I have written a few times in the past. I have a 20 year old daughter who began having problems last summer. We are still working through all of her health issues, but continue to see God's blessings and goodness in protecting her from far worse problems. Recently, a friend of mine called because a radio station she was listening to aired a show in which a young women as well as a couple of health care professionals began to speak out publicly within the faith based community regarding the gardasil vaccine. If you would like to hear the broadcast, please visit the K-LOVE website, click on the news tab, and follow to "closer look" tab which should pull up a broadcast segment from July 6th regarding Gardasil.
Blessings to all,

My daughter, Holly, received the first gardisil shot in July of 2008. She did fine right after the shot but in September 2008 we thought she had mono because she was so tired. Holly is a cross country runner and swimmer who has always been healthy. In October, 2008, she passed out during a cross-country race. She was taken to the ER and all tests came back normal. In December she had a seizure that lasted about thirty minutes. The paramedics passed it off as stress. in January of 2009, Holly had four more seizures and all testing in the emergency room came back normal. We saw a nuerologist in January and he concluded she has epilepsy. She lost her drivers liscense and started taking trileptal. She had about eight additional seizures in January and February then they seemed to get under control. In June of 2009 she went in for a sports physical and without asking me (I was not present) they gave Holly her second shot of gardasil. Two weeks later Holly experienced another seizure lasting about thiry minutes. We obviously will not be getting the third shot. I called my doctors office and set write on my kids files that they are absoulutely not to give my kids anymore of this vaccine. The nurse was a little shocked and said she had never heard of these side effects. Anyone that gets any further info on ways to remedy the toxins our girls received or help for these adverse side effects, please keep me posted. Thank You, Tammy Smith

My daughter, 19 has had 4 seizures..not fainting spells, but seizures since she started with her gardisil immunizations. We have take her to the doctor to check for low blood sugar, diabetes and numerous blood tests. They are all negative. These seizures have all been within the time she has had immunizations.

My daughter also fainted (totally out cold, fell, hit her head) within 5 minutes of the gaurdisil shot. I will not allow her to receive the other two after what I have found out. If this is possible, why didn't the Dr. make her lie down after the injection? I urge all to go to the CDC and FDA websites and report this. You can find this site by going to the Merck website as well. I completed a full report on the adverse reaction and am faxing the report to her Dr. tomorrow and calling him to discuss this side effects.

My arm hurt for a while after the third one but I thought it was nothing.. I've had ostly sinus infections. I'm just not the same energy wise. My immune system wasn't awesome before but I'll use the phrase I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. Is there anything I can do to help? Other than adding yet another vitamin to my daily pills.

my 12 year old daughter was given all 3 guardisal vaccines, and a few months later started having seizures out of the blue. She was a perfectly normal, healthy girl who is now on anti - seizure meds that have terrible side effects. She had 20 seizures before finally getting some relief from the meds. Our life has been turned upside down because of this. I always suspected that the vaccination was to blame. I feel so guilty and devastated that I allowed this to happen.

Hi everyone,
I recentley just turned 22 and was diagnosed with lupus about 2 months ago. I believe that my lupus is drug induced from the Gardasil shot. I had all 3 shots last year, my last shot was in July of 2008, about a month after my last vaccine I started to get very ill. I always get cold when seasons changed so at first I thought nothing of it. My first symptoms began with my fingers and hands swelling up, at first I could barley open my hands or move my fingers, I was in so much pain. Then I could barely lift my arms above my head and it hurt to drive. I was tired all the time. I am also a cheerleader and very active person who enjoys working out. I would attempt my workouts and have to stop because my muscles were so tired. It was horrible I felt like a 21 year old trapped in a 80 year old body. I also could barely eat I lost about 15 pounds and have yet to maintain my normal weight. After about going through 8 months of this misery I finally went to the doctor and at first we thought rheumatiod arthritis, but the tests were negative. They then tested me for Lupus and my ANA came back positive so as of now I have Lupus. I was a normal healthy 21 year old girl now I'm stuck with an autoimmune disease possibly for the rest of my life. Is it possible that this is related to the gardasil shot? I began having symptoms a month after the last vaccine. Let me know what you think or if you have experienced similar issues! Please! If it is drug induced there is hope for it to go away!

GET THE SHOT. dont listen to these people, they probably had symptoms of seizures and whatever else before the shot.

Wow, something definetely needs to be done. My daughter recieved all three doses and has also started having seizures! No family history at all. She finished her last shot on june 23 2008. Went for a year feeling tired and run down. She went to dr to get menactra before entering college on june 24 2009. That night had first seizure. Went on to college and had tonic clonic seizure in class and was sent to ER. I am simply sick to think that these shots have damaged her life. She can not drive and is in constant fear of having more.I'm furious!! I think this vaccine needs pulled immediatly!!!!!!What can we do?Please parents do not give this to your daughters.

My son's 17 yr old girlfriend had her hpv vaccines. I was aware of the dangers and tried to persuade her not to do it.....her mother is an nurse and was convinced that she needed to have them. After the first shot, she was very nauseated...headache and sick to her stomach for weeks...following the 3rd shot, she began fainting at random times. She has passed out 8-10 times in the last few months. She is an active high school cheerleader and had no prior history of fainting and has been to the doctor and been given a clean bill of health. They did offer her some iron pills, stating that maybe she was a bit anemic... the iron did make her feel a bit better, but she has continued to have the fainting spells. She has also begun having horrible menstrual cramps that she didnt have before the vaccine. I am having a hard time convincing them that the vaccine is possibly the cause of all of this, but am pretty sure of it myself. I would also, like to suggest to people who are dealing with the negative side effects, to ck with a homeopathic doctor to do some cleansing and support of the immune system. I am not a doctor, but I wouldnt treat my child with the strong seizure drugs....see if there is a natural way to strengthen their systems. Just a suggestion....I do not have any data to prove that it will work for this, but I would defnitely do some research and give that a try, if it were my child. And everyone...please do your research on all vaccinations....the data is out there...and we have rights, so at least be educated about what you are trusting someone else to inject into your children! is a good informational educate before you vaccinate site!

I am twenty and I have received my first of this series of vaccinations. After receiving the first HPV vaccine I did feel nauseated, weak and dizzy. It seems to me that those more likely to have seizures reported these feelings from the first injection. I have not yet received the following injections. I am going to tell my doctor I want to wait on this vaccine. I have had to miss too much of my life to hospitals and health scares as it is already.
Thank you for this post and your accounts and experiences.

She complains every day of wanting to feel better. I live in a constant state of fear wondering if she will quit breathing.

How terrifying to see other parents in the same boat. My daughter had the Gardasil series in 2007. She had a grand mal seizure in April of 2008 and had to be life flighted to a hospital an hour away. She is on two anti-seizure medications, and probably will be for life. I think the manufacturer should be held responsible for this. My daughter will never drive a car, as CA law prohibits anyone with seizures from driving. No amount of money can replace the losses she has faced and will continue to face.

I am 19, I received my first shot about two weeks ago. The pain of receiving it was like being punched in the shoulder.
And Now two weeks later it STILL hurts it feels as if I have worked out hard the day before and it's so sore I can't use my arm very well.
Also I had a horrible random dream about it... AS if my body was trying to tell me some thing..
In my dream, I was seeing the vaccination site on my shoulder turn green and spreading through my body as if my whole arm was about to fall off. I wasn't even thinking about how long the pain in my shoulder had lasted until that dream happened.
And I realized maybe two weeks of pain isn't normal. I have suffered no other symptoms yet.
Good luck ladies.

Only July 1, 2009,, I took both oy my girls ages 12 and 7 in for a routine exam and to get shot records for school! Both girls were up to date on their shots,,so the Doctor recommended that my 12 year old starts the series of Gardisil..He gave me a print out of the info about the vaccine and gave me about an hour or so in the waiting room to think about it,,(He highly recommended it),,so I went ahead and let her get the shot! She didn't show any signs that something was wrong,,until about afew hours later! She was very tired and didn't want to eat,,she slept for the rest of the day!! A few days later she complained of a headache( by the way are suppose to be a side affect),,the headaches are not on a daily basis,,however they are more frequent!! She also is a more GRUMPY child than she has ever been!! The mood swings are CRAZY! My daughter was due for her second shot on September 1, 2009...but after reading all that is going on,,,she will not be getting the other 2 shots!! Her doctor is saying that her symptoms are raging from purbity!!'s so much that they don't know about the shots and it scares the hell out of me!! I too,,,Am ASHAMED that I may have made a choice to protect my daughter,,,instead I could have possibly put her in harms way!! I've made my mind up,,,she will NOT be getting the final 2 shots,,however my questions is: Am I putting her harm by not getting them? And, does the first shot wear off?

I have a mother who told me more about this issue today. Doctors are not educated on this by anyone unless they surf the web. (I am one, so I know.) I would be interested in your data also showing the lot of the shot. This particular mom said there is a problem with lots containing the letters U and X. My patient received her last 2 from the lot with U, and her problems began after the 2nd shot, worsening after the 3rd. Is there another site to find studies of this yet?

Ladies: If you're unsure as to whether to continue the shots due to adverse's some information for you.
The incidence of serious adverse effects from this vaccine is rapidly exceeding the incidence of invasive cervical cancer. Please understand that with PAP smears every 1 - 3 years over the lifetime, cervical cancer is almost 100% treatable. The vaccine can definitely be considered optional. You're not putting your daughters or yourself in danger by not recieving. Simply practice excellent self care as a woman. Cervical cancer is usually very slow to develop and may take up to 10 - 15 years to reach a "critical" stage.
Remember....even with the Gardasil vaccine you are advised to continue yearly PAPs.
My daughter is 21 now and has been battling seizures, chronic fatigue and mood swings with anxiety and depression since her 2nd Gardasil vaccine. This is something she will deal with for the rest of her life. I've been treated within the last 2 years for cervical cancer and am perfectly healthy with no ill side effects. I wish we could have a "do-over" and Holly could take her chances with CC rather than be struggling as she does.
Don't get the vaccine. And if you've had a adverse effect to the first or second...stop the series.
I pray for all of you.

Today I took my 11 yr old daughter for her last vaccine, she said she felt light headed as usual and so we waited for about 10 min. until we left the room , but this time everything changed very quick. We were checking out of the Dr's office waiting for a Dr's excuse and she fainted and hit her head on the wall behind us and went to the floor I sceamed for help my daughter started having a seizure not even 25 min. after having this vaccine, Im scared and was told by all the Dr's that surounded her on while on the floor that she had a seizure b/c she hit her head, but I'm almost sure it's for the 3rd shot. Im lost for words and I'm shocked that this is going on. My oldest daughter will not be getting her last shot b/c of what I saw today, very, very scary!!! I'm calling her Dr. in the morning to share with them what i've discovered online. Thank you for all the info

I just left the post about my 11 yr old daughter, I wanted to add that she has never had a seizure before in her life and I honestly believe now that is what has been causing both of my girls headaches and for my oldest daughter the irregular cycles, she's been having a cycle like every 2 weeks since begining the first round, and like I said before, trust me she will not get the last one.

I received the Gardasil vaccination approximately two years ago when I was sixteen based on the strong reccomendation given by my pediatrician. A few other girls I know had received the vaccine and told me that although it had been very painful, they did not experience any abnormal side effects. Upon receiving the first shot, I began to experience breathing difficulty at my soccer practices and randomly began to break out in hives. I did not connect this to the Gardasil vaccination at this time. I received the next shot three months later in November and discovered that my breathing situation had worsened. Again, I did not connect this to the vaccination. I instead went to a pulmonologist and it was confirmed that was suffering from asthma, which I had never suffered from before in my life. Fortunately, I was not able to make an appointment for the third shot until six months later due to my busy schedule. After receiving this shot, I experienced intense pain in the surrounding area on my arm. A few hours later, the entire left side of my body (on which I had received the vaccination) went numb. I called my doctor who recommended I go to the emergency room. At the emergency room they performed routine tests and could find no direct evidence linking my numbness (which lasted about 2 hours) to the gardasil shot and refused to even believe in the slight possibility of a connection. However, I believe otherwise.
The list of side effects I have experienced since receiving the shots two years ago include:
1 asthmatic conditions
2 chest pain
3 headaches
4 irregular periods (which had never ever happened to me before receiving the vaccination. They had been coming every two weeks with intense pain until I was advised to go on birth control and now my cycle is once again regulated)
5 fatigue
Today, my menstrual cycle is still irregular when I am not on the pill (I have tried to go off it) and my breathing conditions are terrible.

I forgot to include hives in the list of side effects I have experienced. They still occur in random instances today, but more infrequently as compared to when I first received the vaccine.

My daughter has a terrible time breathing too. I have took her to a Pulmonologist and he determined she does not have Asthma and Asthma medicines do not help her breathing. Do the Asthma meds help you? Have you found anything to help with the breathing? My daughter to has terrible menustration problems.
Thanks, Marie

Two years ago my then 25 y.o. daughter went into a health crisis after her second shot. Fortunately she hasn't had siezures, but has had every other symptom previously mentioned, including no menstruation cycle since her second shot in March of 2008. She just tested positive for Lyme Disease using the Western Blot blood test. So many of her symptoms, post Gardasil, parallel Lyme Disease. Infact, we just read that Lyme can lay dormant and that an insult or trauma to the immune a vaccination...can activate Lyme. She also was allergic to yeast prior to Gardasil and never should have had the vaccination, but didn't know that at the time. So, as complex as this issue is, it continues to have more unimaginable twists. My conclusion, today, at this moment anyway, is that perhaps those with underlying conditions (that we don't even know about) are more susceptible to adverse reactions.
She has found that changing her lifestyle and eating habits has made an incredible difference in how she feels. For her, a diet free of: gluten, eggs, dairy (cow, goat and sheep), corn, soy, sugar, citrus, tomatoes, potatoes, nuts, yeast, coffee, soda, caffeine, as well as staying within the bounds of an anti-candida diet keeps her functional. Straying from this diet causes havoc with digestional function and many symptoms return. She has developed a website devoted to living with dietary restrictions and addresses Gardasil, Lyme, and Candidasis yeast overgrowth. That "godamnshot" has been a life changer alright. Have learned a whole lot more about a whole lot of things that we never wanted to know about.

My heart aches for all of you weathering this storm.

I am currently taking singulair and a xopenex inhaler to deal with the breathing issues I have incurred. Steroid based asthma medications did not work for me. Although I do still experience breathing difficulty, I have found that these medications have improved my breathing a lot and are the reason I was able to continue playing sports in high school and am able to be active today. As for the menstruation problems, I am currently on a low-dose inexpensive birth control pill (microgestin-fe 1/20) that has helped tremendously with the intense pain and heavy flow. Instead of having my period for 9 days and getting it every two weeks it is now regular.
I hope this helps and I understand how hard this can be to go through!

Also, I am currently a student at Boston College and am writing a research paper about the quality of drugs released to the public with a specific focus on Gardasil. In order to make my paper as accurate as possible I would like to include general surveys about people's experiences with the vaccination. In writing this paper, I hope to educate more young women of the dangers of Gardasil and of the effects of any newly released drug in general. If you could please take a few moments of your time and fill out this simple questioniare, it would be greatly appreciated.
1 Briefly describe your/or someone you know's experience with the Gardasil vaccination?
2 When (in relation to the vaccination's release) was it recieved?
3 Did your doctor recommend the vaccination?
4 Did you do any research before deciding to receive the vaccination?
5 If you could say something to someone considering to receive the Gardasil vaccine, what would it be?
You can either email me at or post your response here. Thank you in advance for your help.

My 9 yr.old daughter recieved her 1st shot about 3wks ago. Right after she got it she started not feeling well and began to faint!! I will not allow her to finish! I wonder if there are any effects from not continuing the shots?? I am very scared now and I hope she doesn't have anything more happen.

My daughter and I were PRESSURED greatly into getting the shot at her 11yr old checkup in March 2009. Again- A completely healthy girl..she fainted and had a short seizure right on the table. The nurse yelled's the Gardisil again. The DR finally came in and told the nurse to be quiet. My daughter went home and didn't feel well for a few days. None of the DR's from the practice called to follow up or check on her. I had a follow up appt for the next shot which we cancelled. A DR from the practice then called me up and BULLIED me and was yelling at me and that I shouldn't believe what I read on the internet and why am I not getting the second shot. I actually cried on the phone and the Dr. kept pressuring me to get the followup shots. It was unbelievable.
My daughter has complained of headaches and her breathing is labored now. She is an active , athletic girl and I can't believe I allowed her to have this shot....

I wish I hadn't read the comments on here - now I'm really scared :|. I'm 15 and getting the second shot tomorrow, after the first one I fainted but nothing else happened. My mum won't listen to me and is forcing me to get it.

Wow I'm blown away with the affects of this vaccination. My daughter is 14 and has not received the shot and after reading this and looking at the research I read today she won't be. I have a young patient that I am rehabing in the pool and we were just talking about the possibility of the Gardasil shot being the reason for her weakness, joint aches, decrease ability to focus, decrease muscle tone , decrease appetite. Did anyone look at the ingredients in this shot? I did today it has Amorphous Aluminum Hydroxyphosphate Sulphate, (linked to Alzheimers and neurologic damage)
Sodium Chloride, L-Histidine (Amino Acid)
Polysorbate 80 (cause increase in reproductive growth and sterility and MSDS states carcinogenic) Sodium Borate (ROACH KILLER) and Water. After today I know my daughter won't be getting the shot and my heart just aches for those who I just read about. Just google these ingredients and do more research there is just so much info It just makes me angry to think that the FDA has approved such a thing.

Add my daughter to the long list of victims of this horrible vaccine. She was an incredibly healthy athletic girl, had just scored a nearly perfect ACT and was 10th nationally in her sport. She recieved her second gardisil shot on the same day as the meningitis shot. Three weeks later she passed out and had her first seizure. She has had two more seizures - each 11 months apart. This last one caused her to crack a three inch gash in her head which could have killed her. Conventional medicine will not consider the gardisil vaccine as the reason because that would be admitting responsibility for so many horrible episodes in the lives of previously healthy young women. My daughter struggles now in college and can no longer compete in her sport. The horror of these phone calls and trips to the hospital have taken years off my life. For any one still considering this vaccine take it from me. I would rather she had cervical cancer and I will regret this vaccine decision for the rest of my life. I am taking her to see a homeopathic MD to try to chelate the toxins from her body. Anyone who finds a successful means to recover health, please post. I am afraid that the added toxins in the seizure meds will simply add to the toxicity in her body.

Best you can do is to not take the 3rd jab. There are huge chances that your problems are connected to the Gardasil vaccine.

My 16 yr old daughter received her first and only shot in June 2009. A min or two later she fainted. When I asked the nurse if this was normal, (because she had never fainted before, after receiving any vaccination), she told me she was just nervous. In the car ride home she kept telling me she didn't feel right. Dizzy too. She has had dizzy spells, sick to her stomach, eye pain, right hand going numb and the worst cramps. These episodes were happening 2 -3 times a week. Now they are happening everyday. Dr.'s say she is having panic attacks. NO she is not. This is pretty much the same thing that is happening to the other girls. The research that I have done so far is seems to have a connection with the aluminum, to much of it. I don't know. Or my daughter as well as these others couldn't handle the doze of aluminum. Also, the FDA said that Merck, ( the maker of the vaccine), is still in its trial stages. That finding of this vaccination won't be concluded until September of 2009. In other words, my daughter and yours will be used as a guinea pig.

I am a doctor of chiropractic. I have had to consider the affects of Gardasil as a possible cause for some of my patient's health care problems. Much of what all of these stories contain correlates with the discussions and case histories in my office. Many tests are performed but many times the findings are normal. All patients had a common link with many of the same complaints. They were all female and had received one or several of the Gardasil vaccines.
I have noted that at the beginning of the school year when doctor's visits for school physicals or sports physicals are higher and more vaccines are being administered in number, there have been more ambulance calls to the schools for fainting or seizure like symptoms in female students and the complaints in my office sound a lot like many of the stories that many of you expressed.
I will be honest with you and say that I have researched vaccines and made the decision not to vaccinate my daughter. Todate, my 20 year old daughter has no allergies, ear infections, no antibiotic use, no cavities, I was never vaccinated and I have only had antibiotics once in my life.
I think that everyone should have the right to choose their health care choices. I ask that everyone be as knowledgable as possible and investigate what you are putting in to your body.
I often ask myself, how many vaccines can our children tolerate? I know that I see the health of our children getting worse as we introduce more vaccines.
When a parent asks my opinion about Gradasil, I say that I would be very informed before doing the vaccine and if there is any doubt--do not do it. I personally would not take Gradasil.
In reading some of the comments and stories, I couldn't help noticing that many of you expressed that you were persuaded and sometimes bullied into receiving these vaccinations. Don't ever do something you are not comfortable with. If you have questions and concerns and a health care provider is not sufficiently going over informed consent and possible dangers/risks of vaccines, you should be concerned as a patient.
I wish everyone the best and I am sorry that many of you are having health difficulties. I think this product should be pulled. The testimonies are evidence enough to raise concern.
Yours in health,

Gardasil made of the four most dangerous starins that one in a million never get that strain..
The complicatedness they use todescribe Gardasil
Makes it difficult to see that gardasil is infecting
HPV is a wart
Gardasil is suppose to immune you to HPV
their is no support to never getting anouther wart again in man or animal
as the vets ad docters say , yu can get anouther wart,
never has their been a case that you can never get anouther wart
the wart may go away can still get anouther wart somewere else..copy this sue merck for every last penny..thou i sure their is no MSDS everything sold in USA has a MSDS even water no MSDS no legal..Taliban gang think they are smart.. but 4 dangerous strains take years to mutate as warts slowly do what ever it is they do..
as a wart internally sticks to mucuse membranes divides comunicates to cells merges with dna that the toxins frm the wartmake mistakes to the cell languages that in turn the pituitary gland masters this language, that the toxins of the internal wart that sticks to mucus membranes...mutations of toxin build up that the body cannot flush at waste
as topically clean health pure the body recognized the toxin and flushed out in waste
the unhealthy body used the toxin inthe cells...the injections all internal is a mucus membrane not normal conditions that all of history their is no written materials of what exactly can happen..
typically todays contract of warts is notan injection into the body cavity...sounds really bad....
cause debility and when all get the injection as they are trying to mandate the injection "mandate you need by law to get injection"and the docters see the patients and they are not knowing these facts it sticks to mucus membranes and it spreads..even the idiots that forced Gardasil on the Market

My perfectly healthy daughter turned 15 on 02/13/10. On 02/26/10 she had her 2nd Gardasil shot along with the meningitis shot. All was fine until 03/17/10 when she said she was tired and wanted to take a nap. She got on the couch to nap while her brother and father were in a different room playing a board game. About 20-30 minutes later, her father went in to see how she was feeling and found her on the floor. The couch was wet but the floor was wetter. He tried waking her up and asked her why she was on the floor. She was disoriented and didn't "know what he was talking about". She was extremely weak and unable to stand on her own. That is when they noticed she had severe damage to her face and left eye. 911 was called and she was taken to the ER. My daughter looked like she was severely beaten in the face. Her left eye appeared droopy and was full of blood. She had a very large lump over her left eye and the blood vessels in her face were all broken. The doctor said that her face was purple because it was blood pooling under her skin. All tests came back fine, no drugs or alcohol in her system, EKG fine, but no EEG was done. I asked the ER doctor WHY they had not done an EEG and he informed me that the neurologist would have to do that. Besides all of this, the family is now being grilled by the child protection agency and law enforcement. They seem convinced that somebody has beaten her. My daughter has a wonderful home life and there have NEVER EVER been ANY signs of abuse in our household. It was not until the next day did a friend tell me she had been doing research on unexplained seizures and Gardasil seems to be having numerous stories like this. I am so very frightened that this is going to happen again. Needless to say, my daughter will NOT be getting her 3rd dose of this vaccine. At this point all we can do is pray.

I am a 15 year old girl. I got the Gardasil vaccination towards the end of August, 2007. On September 8th of the same year, I had my first seizure. We asked the doctors about whether or not the vaccine could be causing this. They said that there was no possible way, so naturally, we went ahead and I got the last three shots. Ironically enough, things got progressively worse. I have had every test imaginable done, and of course, everything came back normal. Because of these seizures I have had to give up playing high school softball, going on a major diet where I am practically eating cardboard, suffered major migraines and physical pain, and even had to cancel my mission trip to Costa Rica last summer.
